Section 4 - Using Wineskin.app
4.4 Advanced - Configuration
Windows EXE - This is the windows executable file that is being run by the wrapper relative to the drive_c folder. You do not need to fill it in manually, you can press the Browse button and select the executable file and let it fill in for you. The Use Start.exe option is required if your file you are running is a .msi or .bat. Sometimes even on a .exe programs will launch better or correctly if it uses start.exe, but some programs will not work right if it is on, so it is optional. EXE Flags - Just add in the flags here that you would normally run on the executable file in Windows. These are just command line options that would be after the exe if you were running it from command line. Custom Commands - Here you can enter in normal command line commands that will be run when Wine is run, so if you need to set language variables or other such commands, you can list as many as you want in this blank, just write them just like they would be on the command line, so you’d separate the commands by a semi-colon. So for example... Var1=”hello there”; Var2=bye; would set two variables with those values. | |
Menubar Name - This is the name that will be on the top Mac OS X Menubar for the program. It MUST be unique if you want more than 1 Wineskin port to run at the same time. If you have 2 Wineskin ports that both have the same menubar name, they will not allow you to run them both at the same time. Version - this is the version of the Application that will show up in Finder and Get Info. Set it to show right for the program you are using. Wine Debug - this is the line of Wine debug settings that you’d normally set command line with “WINEDEBUG=” variable. Everything in the blank is the same as you can type just like you were entering it after WINEDEBUG=. See the Wine Wiki for more information on Debug. Associated Extensions - Here you can add in extensions and edit how they launch. There is an example and some help on the dialog window while using this to help you get the syntax correct. Icon - This is the Icon that is used for the App wrapper. You will see a little preview picture of it. You can click browse and select any .icns icon file on your system and it will make that the icon for this wrapper. |
